Bolle "The Ultimate Friend"

100% of proceeds go to Bolle’s welfare organization!

Bolle was the ultimate friend! Over the years, I took an incredible number of photos of Bolle and compiled some of my favorites into a 100-page book that reflects a small part of our journey together.

Bolle was a rescue dog from Spain who, with a lot of luck, managed to escape being put down. Although the new Spanish animal welfare law includes a so-called “no-kill” regulation - meaning that healthy pets in shelters may no longer be put down due to lack of space or financial reasons - in practice, so-called “Perreras” (public killing stations) still exist. These facilities are often publicly funded and overcrowded in many areas.

Hunting dogs are a particular concern. They are often classified as working animals and are therefore partly excluded from the new law. After the hunting season, tens of thousands of dogs are abandoned, abused, or killed every year.
In general, a distinction must be made between private animal welfare organizations (“Refugios”), which usually operate under a no-kill principle and work to rehome animals, and public killing stations (“Perreras”).

It took me several weeks to track down the person responsible for rescuing Bolle. He was not originally listed for adoption and was only added for placement because his “cellmate” was adopted. The person responsible for adoptions decided to include him as well.

The woman who helped save Bolle is still active today, together with four other women, in a private animal welfare organization in the Cádiz region without any financial support. They rely entirely on donations, and I would love to donate the proceeds from this project to them. - Thank you for your support!
